Welcome from Mary Holmes, Conference Chair

I am excited to welcome you to the 93rd NYSAFLT Annual Conference: The iGeneration: New Attitudes, New Concepts, New Ideas.

When we first introduced this year’s theme, our intention was to focus on using the skills, technologies and personalities of our students to enhance instruction. But, so much as happened in the last year, the theme has come to represent more. The "new" in our title means emphasizes the fact that change is everywhere; in our programs, our assessments, our administrators, and of course, our students. For Foreign Language educators, changes offer opportunities and challenges. I hope this Conference helps you with both. We are thrilled to work again with Toni Theisen, 2009 ACTFL Teacher of the Year who has exceptional vision when it comes to our conference  theme. I would like you to have the opportunity to find and create new ideas and meet new challenges. I look forward to seeing you in Rochester this October.
